The Red

The imagery portrayed in the song The Red by Chevelle is very deep and intense. The song uses the color red to describe a deep rage that one feels towards the world. The person in this song is tired of being let down and lied to by the world. He tries to calm down, but in the end he just keeps on seeing red. To me the lyrics of this song portrays an image of the worlds darker betraying side. The imagery I associate with the song is like seeing everything through a red filter, you can still see the images but everything is in a shade of dark red. Even though the image of the song is not clearly visible one can imagine different possibilities. Music has some very good imagery in its lyrics if one applies their imagination to it.
